The first ATE here was a UAX opened in March 1952 to replace a CBS2 manual exchange. The current exchange came into operation at the end of 1981 when most lines became Rostrevor 38*** numbers.

Warrenpoint ATE
Warrenpoint telephone exchange is in Summer Hill, Warrenpoint, Newry BT34 3JB.
The first ATE here was a UAX12 in Charlotte Street (since demolished) which came oino service at midday on 1 July 1937. It closed when a UAX 14 in the building to the left of the current site opened in December 1956.
The current building came into use in March 1984. Â It was converted from Strowger to digital working on 7 September 1993.
Its telephone codes include 028-4175 and 028-4177.
Its former dialling codes include 01693-75 and 01693-77.
