It came into service on 16 May 1982, replacing the former Antrim exchange and the Massarene relief exchange which operated for about five years. All lines became Antrim 6**** numbers. It was converted to digital working on 29 June 1993.
Its telephone codes include 028-9442, 028-9446 and 028-9448.
Its former dialling code was 01849, previously 084 94.

Antrim former ATE
The former Antrim telephone exchange is in Station Road, Antrim BT41 1AB.
It came into service in late 1946 as a UAX14 to replace a manual exchange. It was extended in the 1960s with a K1 type building.
It closed on 16 May 1982 and is now a Mormon church.
Its dialling code was 023 841, later 084 941.

Crumlin ATE
Crumlin telephone exchange is in Cidercourt Road, Crumlin, BT29 4XF.
The first Crumllin ATE Â was an RAX5, opened on 30 June 1931 and converted to a UAX12 around the start of 1950. The present exchange opened on 9 September 1970 when lines became Crumlin 52*** numbers. It was converted to digital working on 29 June 1993.
Its telephone codes include 028-9445.
Its former dialling code was 01849-45, previously 023 843.

Randalstown telephone exchange is located in Ahoghill Road, Randalstown, Antrim BT41 3BJ.
The first Randalstown ATE was an RAX5, opened in October 1932. The present exchange came into service in 1974, lines becoming Randalstown 72*** numbers (STD code 08494). It was converted to digital working on 29 June 1993.

The first Templepatrick ATE was a UAX12, opened on 31 August 1937. The present exchange came into service at 1.30pm on 22 November 1973 when lines became Templepatrick 32*** numbers (STD code 08494). It was converted to digital working on 29 June 1993.
