Adderbury former ATE

The former Adderbury telephone exchange stood on The Green, Adderbury, Banbury OX17 3NG.

It replaced a manual exchange which had been in a private house near The Green since 1946 and previously in the post office where it opened in 1928. The ATE closed on 6 November 1974, when lines went to the new Adderbury exchange as Banbury numbers, it was sold in the 1990s and Tinkle Cottage (shown here) now occupies the site.
