The former Harvington telephone exchange (seen here on the left) stood at what is now 65 Village Street, Harvington, Evesham WR11 8NQ.

It came into service in the 1940s as a UAX13. It closed in the mid-1970s, was demolished and replaced by a post office which is now a private house called The Old Exchange.

Pershore’s last manual exchange was above the then post office at 34 High Street, Pershore,  Worcester WR10 1DS.

It came into service in the recently-completed building on 8 October 1932 to replace the previous exchange in Broad Street. It ceased operation at 1pm on 28 August 1969 when the present exchange was opened. It is now used as Pershore Town Hall.

Pershore’s second manual telephone exchange was at 12 Broad Street, Pershore, Worcester (second door from the right, now WR10 1AY). It came into service in 1905 to replace the first National Telephone Company exchange opened in 1899 in the nearby shop of ironmonger Charles Field. It was operated by Mrs S Baylis for 27 years until it closed on 8 October 1932. The building is now a private dwelling.

Stanton Telephone Exchange is located in Stanway Road, Stanton, Broadway WR12 7NQ  and serves Laverton, Stanton, Stanway and the surrounding area.

The telephone code for this exchange is 01386-58.

The former Stanton Telephone Exchange was originally a UAX-12 built in 1937/38, replacing a CBS-2, we understand, in the post office which was just in front of this building.  The UAX-12 was upgraded to a UAX-13 in 1960. The Post Office closed in 1972, and the new site for the TE was purchased by the PO in 1976.  There was actually a Mobile exchange [ND(m)] in Stanton from 1976 to 1978, returning to a UAX-13 in 1979.

The building has been extensively converted, and was rented out as a B&B, before being sold.
