The twenty-two BT Telephone Exchanges (and five former) in the Reading (0118) telephone area
The exchanges in the inner core of Reading originally had the code 0734, whilst the
exchanges in the outer ring had the code 0735. These were all later merged into 0734.
On 08/04/1996 the Reading area code was changed to 0118, with a 9 added to phone numbers.

- West Forest former Relief ExchangesWest Forest was the name given to two separate relief exchanges serving Wokingham from 30 December 1964 to 23 March 1973 (dialling code 073 431) and from 1979 to 5 December 1984 (dialling code 073 522).
