Rowardennan former CSX

The Rowardennan country satellite exchange was installed opposite the rear of the Rowardennan Hotel, by Drymen, Glasgow G63 0AR and covered a small community beside Loch Lomond.

Seen in this rare picture, it was contained in the metal box attached to the telegraph pole. It was brought into use in 1938 and by 1951 served only five lines. The Rowardennan CSX survived until 1963 when its lines were taken over by Balmaha UAX12 as Balmaha 25* numbers. A K6 kiosk replaced the K3 in the picture.
