Crux Easton former ATE
The former Crux Easton ATE is situated at Three Legged Cross, Crux Easton, Newbury RG20 9QE.
It stands on the road to Crux Easton just off the A343, opposite the former Three Legged Cross pub.
It was one of the last UAX5s to open – in about 1936 – and one of the last to close – on 21 April 1971 – when lines were transferred to Highclere exchange. Press reports at the time said the equipment was given to the Science Museum.
The building is now disused.

East Ilsley ATE
East Ilsley Telephone Exchange is located in High Street, East Ilsley, Newbury RG20 7LF and serves East Ilsley, West Illsley and the surrounding area.
The former East Ilsley exchange, equipped with a UAX12, then a SAX, was housed within two buildings on the same site as the current exchange.
