Crediton ATE
Crediton Telephone Exchange is located in Parliament Street, Crediton EX17 2BP and serves Crediton and the surrounding area.
The current Crediton exchange came into operation at 1.30pm on Thursday 7 April 1960.  It cost £100,000 and initially catered for around 600 subscribers with a capacity for expansion to 1,000 lines.
The building also incorporated a repeater station. It replaced a manual exchange at 141 High Street which had been opened by the National Telephone Company in 1907.
