It came into operation as a UAX 12 in the early years of World War II to replace a manual exchange opened in 1928. It remained mechanically operated until conversion to digital in the early 1990s. Mark Moor Telephone Exchange is located in Kingsway, Mark, Highbridge TA9 4NT and serves Mark and the surrounding villages. It came into operation in late 1952 or early 1953. The area had been served from 1924 by a rural party line – Highbridge 28. With a dozen subscribers sharing the line, Mark parish council petitioned unsuccessfully in 1936 for the village to have its own exchange. The rural party line was one of the last in the country, the Pack Horse hotel keeping the number Highbridge 28×4 till 1952.The exchange was converted to digital working in about 1993. The dialling code of this exchange was 027 864.

North Petherton Telephone Exchange is located in Queen Street, North Petherton, Bridgwater TA6 6RQ and serves North Petherton and the surrounding villages. It probably came into operation around 1972 when lines became 662*** numbers. Its predecessor exchange (location unknown) came into service as a UAX12 around 1938, replacing a manual exchange opened by the National Telephone Company c 1907.  Unusually, in the last months of the UAX, subscribers were given numbers in the 1** range. Its former dialling code was 027 866.

Puriton Telephone Exchange is located in Hillside, Puriton, Bridgwater TA7 8AW and serves Down End, Puriton and the surrounding area. It probably came into use in 1972 when lines became 683*** numbers.

The first exchange here, situated in Hillside, was a UAX12, opened in 1937 or 1938, when through-dialling with parent exchange Bridgwater was introduced.

It has since been demolished to provide a driveway to the current exchange.
