Up until 11 September 1988 the Market Weighton group had the STD code of 0696 & the North Cave group had the STD code of 0430.
In order to free up space for mobile, non-geographic, premium rate and pager services, this area was one of sixteen of the original STD codes with low number use which were merged into fourteen existing ranges so each area code would cover multiple charge groups

The former Gilberdyke telephone exchange stands in Thornton Dam Lane, Gilberdyke, Brough HU15 2UL.
The first ATE here was an RAX5 opened in the early 1930s. It was replaced by a UAX13 which now forms part of a bungalow called Rainbow’s End.
Its dialling code was 043 04.

Holme-on-Spalding-Moor ATE

The former Holme-on-Spalding-Moor exchange stood on the corner of New Road and Old Road, Holme-on-Spalding-Moor, York YO43 4AE. A UAX13, it has been demolished for houses.
Howden ATE

Howden Telephone Exchange is located in Batty Lane, Howden, Goole DN14 7BW and also serves Brind, Kilpin, Knedlington, Laxton, Saltmarshe and Skelton.
The former Howden exchange stood at 4 Batty Lane, Howden, Goole, DN14 7BW.
A UAX13, it has been replaced by a house also known as The Old Telephone Exchange.
North Cave ATE

The former North Cave exchange stood in Everthorpe Lane, North Cave, Brough HU15 2LF. A UAX13, it was sold in November 1979 and a house called Autumn Cottage now occupies the site.
