The eight BT Telephone Exchanges (and one former) in the Market Weighton (01430) telephone area

Up until 11 September 1988 the Market Weighton group had the STD code of 0696 & the North Cave group had the STD code of 0430.
In order to free up space for mobile, non-geographic, premium rate and pager services, this area was one of sixteen of the original STD codes with low number use which were merged into fourteen existing ranges so each area code would cover multiple charge groups

The first ATE here was an RAX5 opened in the early 1930s. It was replaced by a UAX13 which now forms part of a bungalow called Rainbow’s End.

The former Holme-on-Spalding-Moor exchange stood on the corner of New Road and Old Road, Holme-on-Spalding-Moor, York YO43 4AE. A UAX13, it has been demolished for houses.
