Amman Valley Telephone Exchange is located in Heol-Gae-Gurwen, Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen, Ammanford SA18 1HG and serves Ammanford, Glanaman, Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen and the surrounding area.

Amman Valley former ATE

The former Amman Valley Telephone Exchange is located 100 yards north of the current exchange in Heol-Gae-Gurwen, Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen, Ammanford SA18 1HG and served Ammanford, Glanaman, Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen and the surrounding area.
In was service from around 1950 as a UAX14, replacing the former manual exchanges at Garnant, Glanamman, Gwaun-Cae-Gerwn and Upper Brynamman, and closing in 1978. Now in use as a private dwelling and still retaining much of its original “D1” type building structure.

Cross Hands ATE

Cross Hands Telephone Exchange is located in Pontardulais Road, Cross Hands, Llanelli SA14 6NT and serves Cross Hands, Gorlas and the surrounding area.
The former Cross Hands exchange was equipped with a UAX13.
The telephone codes for this exchange include 01269-83 and 01269-84.
The former dialling code for this exchange was 026 974.

Llandybie former ATE

The former Llandybie Telephone Exchange was located 200 yards north-west from the present exchange, situated in 28 High Street, Llandybie, Ammanford SA18 3HX and served Llandybie, Pentregwenlais and the surrounding area.
In service in 1957 as a UAX13, replacing the manual exchange in the nearby village post office, and closing in 1979. The disused exchange building was later demolished and replaced by a two storied private residence.

Pontyates ATE

Pontyates Telephone Exchange is located in Heol Meinciau, Pontyates, Llanelli SA15 5TR and serves Pont-Henri, Pontyates and the surrounding area.
The telephone code for this exchange is 01269-86.
The former dialling code for this exchange was 026 976.

Pontyates former ATE

The former Pontyates Telephone Exchange was located 200 yards south-east from the present exchange, in 12 Heol Llanelli, Pontyates, Llanelli SA15 5TU and served Pont-Henri, Pontyates and the surrounding area.
In service in 1958 as a UAX13, replacing the former manual exchange at the village post office, and remaining in use until 1980. The “B1” timber structure then remained derelict until 2021 when it was demolished along with adjoining properties and the site cleared.

Pontyberem Telephone Exchange is located in Coalbrook Road, Pontyberem, Llanelli SA15 5HU and serves Bancffosfelen, Pontyberem and the surrounding area.

Tumble former ATE

The now lost former Tumble Telephone Exchange served Llanddarog, Tumble and the surrounding area, 8 miles south east of Carmarthen and 2 miles west of Cross Hands. In service in 1955 as a UAX13 replacing a former manual exchange at the village post office. In 1960 the area to the north (marked blue) was transferred to the present Llanddarog exchange, in the Carmarthen exchange group; the remaining area (marked pink) served by Tumble exchange remained in use until 1976, when subscribers transferred to the present Cross Hands exchange.
Its former dialling code was 026 973.
