Burton Latimer ATE
Burton Latimer former Exchange
The former Burton Latimer exchange, the edge of which is just visible on the left, stood opposite the Duke’s Arms pub, in High Street, Burton Latimer NN15 5RL.
It was built in the 1930s to replace a manual exchange in the High Street. A relief exchange called Isebrook was opened on 8 January 1965. The exchange and the relief unit are believed to have closed in March1966 when lines were transferred to the current exchange. It has since been demolished.

Cranford ATE
Cranford former ATE
The former Cranford telephone exchange stands south of an old railway bridge at the east end of High Street, Cranford St John, Kettering NN14 4AA.
It housed a UAX12 opened around 1936. Lines were transferred to the current Cranford exchange at closure. It is currently derelict.
Its dialling code was 053 678.

Desborough ATE
It came into service as a TXE2 on 23 August 1972, Desborough lines becoming Kettering 760*** numbers.
It replaced a former exchange located in Buckwell Street, now known as Rothwell Road, Desborough NN14 2PD, and was equipped with a UAX13.
The telephone code for this exchange is 01536-76.

East Carlton former ATE
The former East Carlton telephone exchange is in Church Lane, East Carlton, Market Harborough LE16 8YA.
The brick building housed a UAX12 which opened in 1936. An expanded exchange in the B1 type building to the rear came into use on 19 December 1957. It closed on 28 November 1978 when  lines were transferred to the new Rockingham exchange.
Its dialling code was 053 675.

Geddington Cross former ATE
The former Geddington Cross telephone exchange stands between Queen Street and New Road, Geddington NN14 1AZ, next to the car park (off New Road) of the former White Lion pub.
It opened as a UAX around 1952. It closed when its lines were transferred to the new Great Oakley exchange around 1974 as Kettering 742*** numbers.
Its dialling code was 053 679.

Kettering former ATE
The former Kettering telephone exchange was built as part of the post office in Lower Street, Kettering NN16 8AA.
It opened as a non-director exchange in 1937 to replace the town’s magneto manual exchange. STD was introduced on 16 March 1966. A Strowger relief exchange called Wadcroft was in use here till it closed on 31 January 1979.
Its dialling code was 0536.
