The former Gairloch manual telephone exchange was located in Bracken Croft, Gairloch IV21 2BS and also served the surrounding area including Auchtercairn, Mial and Strath.
In 1947 the exchange was equipped with a CBS2 switchboard with 47 lines.

Lochmaree former ATE

The former Lochmaree exchange is at Loch Maree, Gairloch IV22 2HL.
The first Loch Maree exchange was a CSX (Country Satellite Exchange) which opened around 1956 and closed about 1970 when its lines were transferred to Gairloch exchange. A Lochmaree ATE was then opened in a B1 type building in the mid-1970s. It is unclear to us when it closed but the building is believed to be still standing.

North Erradale ATE

North Erradale telephone exchange is located on the B8021 in North Erradale, Gairloch IV21 2DS and also serves the surrounding area including Big Sand and Peterburn.
