Buckland Newton telephone exchange is opposite the Gaggle of Geese pub, Buckland Newton, Dorchester DT2 7BS and also serves an area including Cosmore and Brockhampton Green.

The first auto exchange here came into service in the early 1930s as an RAX5 to replace the manual board on the post office.

The principal telephone code for this exchange is 01300-345.

Its former dialling code was 030 05.

Buckland Newton former manual TE

The former Buckland Newton manual exchange was in Buckland Newton post office on the corner of Lockett’s Lane.

It came into service in the 1920s and was replaced by an RAX5 in the early 1930s. A K6 kiosk was later installed to the left of the building which is now a private house.

Cerne Abbas telephone exchange is in Acreman Sreet, Cerne Abbas, Dorchester DT2 7JX and also serves an area including Nether Cerne and Sydling St Nicholas.

The first auto exchange here came into service in the early 1930s as an RAX5.

The principal telephone codes for this exchange include 01300-341 and -342.

Its former dialling code was 030 03.

Maiden Newton telephone exchange is in Bull Lane, Maiden Newton, Dorchester DT2 0BQ and also serves an area including Cattistock and Frampton.

It came into service around 1980, when lines became Maiden Newton 20*** numbers, when it replaced a UAX in Bull Lane.

The principal telephone code for this exchange is 01300-32.

The dialling code of its predecessor exchange was 030 02.
