Clumber former ATE
We are still searching for the former Clumber telephone exchange which is believed to have stood somewhere on the Clumber Park estate.
Originally called Hardwick, it came into service in an area previously served by Worksop exchange on 13 February 1930 as an RAX 5 with 11 subscribers. Its name was changed to Clumber in mid-1932. It was converted to a UAX12 around 1938 and closed in about 1968 when lines were taken over by Worksop.
Its dialling code was 090 975 .

Creswell former ATE
The former Creswell telephone exchange is believed to have stood at 2 Duke Street, Creswell, Worksop S80 4AR.
After closure it was demolished and replaced by a hairdressing salon and flat.

Dinnington ATE
Kiveton ATE
Kiveton former ATE
The first Kiveton auto telephone exchange stands in Station Road, Kiveton Park, Sheffield S26 6QQ.
It possibly came into service around 1932 as an RAX6. It was later replaced by a UAX13, since demolished, which stood immediately to the east of the Catholic church in Station Road. The UAX6 building survives as a shed in the grounds of 56 Station Road.
The dialling code of its replacement was 090 977.
North Carlton ATE
Shireoaks former ATE
The former Shireoaks ATE is situated in Gateford Toll Bar, Shireoaks, Worksop.
It opened in 1931 with 21 subscribers and closed in late 1967, lines transferring to the Worksop exchange.
Its dialling code (if ever used) was 090 971.
Whitwell ATE
Worksop ATE
Worksop former ATE
The former Worksop Priory Telephone Exchange is located in Queen Street, Worksop S80 2AN and served Worksop and the surrounding area. This grade II listed building was constructed in 1937.
The former dialling code for this exchange was 090 9.

When the former Worksop exchange in Queen Street closed at this location the building was converted into the IBTE Telephone Museum, part of the BT Connected Earth project. Sadly it closed in 2002.
